Metchosin Farmers’ Market Every Sunday, from May 9,2010 to Oct. 31, 2010 beginning at 11am to 2pm
Come – See your local Market in action!
This is the Market’s 20th anniversary of being a local Market! In July or August(we will post details in advance) we are planning special events to celebrate this exciting anniversary. Keep checking out this site. Metchosin Farmers’ Market is where you want to be!
Come - See what we are growing for you! Lettuce is in and arugula is growing. Freshly grown spring onions, carrots and beets will be here. Look for chard, snow peas and more! Bedding plants, hanging baskets, flowers and herbs (fresh, dried, and plants) are now being planned for the May and June Markets. Vegetable starters of tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, and more will be at your local Spring Metchosin Farmers’ Market.
Come – See what is being made for you! Jams, jellies, chutneys, and salsas are in the making. Soaps, shampoos, scented essences are now being created with you in mind. Tye-dyed clothing, quilted products are being made, pottery is being created, and Cat and Dog Treats are being packaged for you, our customer. Our leather goods man ia awaiting your arrival.
Come – See what we are baking for you! Recipes for sourdough breads with cheeses, or olives, or plain are being sought out in books. Rye breads of artisan bakings are being planned for you. Cookies of shortbread, oatmeal, chocolate chip or peanutbutter are in the minds of our bakers. Fresh muffins made of all healthy ingredients and a variety of flavours are in the books of the makers and bakers. Pies, squares and brittles will also be coming to the Market. Perogies will be found at the Market.
Lunches of “sausage on a bun” from our local Galloping Goose Sausage Company can be eaten as you watch our demonstrations, sit at our picnic tables, or listen to the music!
Our pamphlets of local beaches, trails, heritage sites, and local events are to be found under the sheltered area near the coffee.
Come – see what we have grown, made and baked for you!
